Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Haus Fly is operated by Traffictoniq Marketing Services (OPC) Private Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Act 2013 ("we", "our", "us"). We operate hausfly.in, a flat rental discovery platform for Bangalore. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can exercise your rights over it.

This policy is compliant with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). For questions, contact us at legal@hausfly.in.

2. Data we collect from you

Account data: When you create an account, we collect your mobile phone number (used for OTP sign-in via Firebase Authentication) and, optionally, your name.

Email address: If you set up listing alerts, we collect your email address to send you alert notifications. You may unsubscribe at any time.

Usage data: We record which listings you view, save to favourites, and tap to contact. This is used to improve the platform and is not sold to third parties.

Alert preferences: The search filters you save as alerts (locality, BHK, rent range, etc.) are stored so we can match them against new listings.

3. Third-party listing content

Listing details displayed on Haus Fly are sourced from publicly available posts on Facebook groups. We do not collect personal data from listing posters — we display content they have already made public. Phone numbers visible in listing posts are redacted for users who are not signed in.

4. How we use your data

• To authenticate your account and keep it secure
• To send listing alert emails you have subscribed to
• To save your favourites and alert preferences across sessions
• To record contact-tap events for product analytics (which listings get traction)
• To support our daily manual curation process — report data and engagement signals help our team identify low-quality or fraudulent listings for removal
• To investigate reports of fraudulent or misleading listings

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.

5. Data sharing

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

• Firebase (Google) — phone number authentication and OTP delivery
• Supabase — database hosting for listings, accounts, and alerts
• Resend — transactional email delivery for alert notifications
• Render — platform hosting and infrastructure

Each of these providers processes data only as necessary to provide their service and is contractually bound to protect your data.

We may disclose data to law enforcement or regulatory bodies if required by applicable law.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data (phone number, name, email, favourites, and alerts) is deleted from our systems within 30 days.

Anonymised usage data (e.g. contact-tap counts per listing) may be retained for analytics purposes after account deletion.

7. Your rights (DPDP Act 2023)

As a data principal under the DPDP Act 2023, you have the right to:

• Access — request a summary of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — request that inaccurate data be corrected
• Erasure — request deletion of your personal data (or use the "Delete account" option in settings)
• Grievance redressal — raise a complaint about how we handle your data
• Nominate — nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity

8. Cookies

We use only functional cookies necessary for authentication (Firebase session tokens). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. If we make a material change, we will notify signed-in users via email.
